The Hemlock Treehouse at Hocking Hills Treehouse Cabins is set deep in the ravine and has the most amazing views of the surrounding nature. I have been looking forward to this trip for quite a long time. When an opportunity arose for me to stay in this treehouse, I checked their booking calendar right away. Between April and September, there was only one night open! This is a popular place to stay and well worth it. I wish I would have been able to book 2 nights and have a full day to relax and enjoy the peacefulness.
There were a few challenges but nothing we couldn’t work with. I’m glad I had my SUV as the gravel drive down to the treehouse is rather steep in spots. There are also over 70 stairs to get down to the treehouse once you park. There is wifi but it is spotty since you are so far down in the ravine.
The interior stairs is a narrow spiral staircase with a rope railing which is not the most comfortable way to get upstairs. We mostly used the outdoor stairs that went from the back deck up to the sliding doors in the bedroom. The outdoor shower was amazing but I would have brought flip flops if I had really thought about it. The wood floor was a little slippery when it was wet.
This treehouse has a full bathroom, kitchenette, wood-fired hot tub, outdoor shower, fire pit and private gazebo. They had the hot tub already filled, heated and waiting for us upon arrival.
They left us fixings for smores and popcorn which we didn’t get around to using since we were only there one night.
I really enjoyed the outdoor shower. The hot water in the cool summer morning air felt so nice and the surroundings were beautiful!
The Treehouse cabins are located about 10 - 15 minutes from Hocking Hills State Park Visitor’s Center, Old Man's Cave, Ash Cave and Cedar Falls. Thank you to Tara for meeting us for some hiking and a nice lunch at the Rock House Restaurant. Also, congratulations to the lovely couple, celebrating their honeymoon, that we met on the bridge over the Upper Falls.
