For the past couple of years, I've been making snowflakes from plastic hangers and zip ties as part of our outside Christmas decorations.
What you need:
16 white plastic hangers per snowflake (you can these at Dollar Tree, Target, Amazon, etc.)
100 count pack of 6 inch white or clear zip ties (this will cover about 3 snowflakes depending on how many you use per snowflake)
scissors
fishing line (to hang up the snowflakes)
Depending on the layout of the hangers, you can create different snowflakes. I also have two different styles of hangers which also make the snowflakes look different. Below are the 3 variations that I use.
Snowflake 1
Lay 8 hangers on a flat surface in this pattern.
Lay 8 hangers in this pattern on top of the first 8 hangers and zip tie at connection points. Trim zip ties.
Snowflake 2
Lay 8 hangers on a flat surface in this pattern.
Lay 8 hangers in this pattern on top of the first 8 hangers and zip tie at connection points. Trim zip ties.
Snowflake 3
Lay 8 hangers on a flat surface in this pattern.
Lay 8 hangers in this pattern on top of the first 8 hangers and zip tie at connection points. Trim zip ties.
