A bungee exercise class came up in my Facebook feed and looked interesting but totally outside my comfort zone. So I searched Google maps right away for one my area and booked a class. I went to my first class last night. It took a little getting used to being in the harness but it was a lot of fun!
At Spring Bungee Fitness, the classes are a dance studio style workout while strapped into a ten foot bungee harness mounted to the ceiling. It’s definitely a cardio workout but the bungee reduces joint stress. I was able to do squats and burpees continually without any pain in my knees. Typically I could do a few burpees and be ready to quit. I was able to do multiples of them, throughout the sequence of exercises we did during each song, and still feel energized to keep going.
Becca was a great instructor, very cheerful and encouraging! She made sure our harnesses were properly fitted to us at the beginning of class. Throughout the class she checked in with us to make sure we were comfortable in our harnesses. Becca reviewed the exercises in each sequence with us before starting the song. Once the music started, she would call out and count down to each new exercise making it easy to follow along.
Spring Bungee Fitness allows private parties too, which I totally intend to take advantage of.
